Cons of eating:

1. Most dry foods contain too many carbohydrates

Because cats are complete meat eaters, their main source of energy and nutrition should come from animal protein and animal fat, not carbohydrates. Strictly speaking, if cats have enough animal protein and fat in their daily diet, they don't need carbohydrates at all to survive healthy. However, if you pay attention, you will find that the dry food for cats and cats on the market often contains a lot of grains, so that the carbohydrate content is as high as 35% to 40%. The cat's body structure is not good at handling a large amount of carbohydrates. For example, cats who eat foods containing a lot of carbohydrates day in and day out will greatly increase the chances of developing diabetes and obesity.

2. Eating dry food for a long time can easily lead to feline lower urinary tract syndrome

Since felines originate from water-poor desert regions, their bodies are built to draw most of their water needs from their food. The small animals (such as mice, birds, etc.) they capture are usually not less than 60% water content. In addition, because they originate from the desert, their thirst function is not as sensitive as dogs and humans, which explains why most cats do not like drinking water.

It should be noted that the water content of dry food is only 6% to 10%. Although cats and cats that eat dry food as their staple food drink more water than cats that eat wet food, they actually absorb more water than cats. Fewer cats eat wet food. This makes cats who only eat dry cat food for a long time fall into a state of chronic dehydration for a long time, which reduces the amount of urination, and the urine is over-concentrated, which makes it prone to urinary system problems in the future.

Therefore, for the sake of cats' health, never use dry food as their main staple food. High-quality wet food (homemade or canned) is the primary food that most closely approximates the ideal diet for cats.

Feeding Notes:

Determine the feeding amount based on the size and age of the cat breed.

Due to individual differences, make appropriate adjustments according to your cat's situation.

Feeding method:

◆Standing clean drinking water for cats to drink at any time.

◆Kittens can be fed kitten cat food from 4 weeks of age.

◆When 4-9 weeks old cats are fed kitten cat food, they need to be soaked in warm water before feeding.

◆After 10 weeks of kittens, the amount of water soaked in cat food can be gradually reduced until the transition to dry food is complete.

Kitten food change guide:

To ensure the health of your cat's digestive system, food changes should be made gradually. Mix cat food with existing food over 4 days and gradually increase the amount of cat food until the cat is fully acclimated.
