With the development of the global packaging industry and logistics industry, the requirements for the quality of packaging boxes are getting higher and higher.

Especially for long-distance transportation of packaging boxes, there may be cases of returns and claims caused by a poor printing effect caused by uneven cardboard warping, moisture absorption and softening, and product damage or scrapping caused by opening glue.

It can be seen that the quality of packaging boxes is very important to the packaging and logistics industry.

So, what are the materials of the packaging box?

Regarding the material used in the box, cardboard is the main force. Generally, paper with a base weight greater than 200gsm or a thickness greater than 0.3mm is called cardboard.

The raw material of cardboard is basically the same as that of paper. Due to its high strength and easy folding, it has become the main production paper for packaging boxes. There are many types of cardboard, and the thickness is generally between 0.3~1.1mm.

Corrugated cardboard:

Corrugated paper is a multi-layer adhesive body, which consists of at least one layer of corrugated core paper and one layer of cardboard. It has high mechanical strength and can withstand collisions and falls during handling.

The corrugated corrugations of corrugated paper are like connected arched doors, juxtaposed with each other in a row. They support each other and form a triangular structure with good mechanical strength.

It can also bear a certain pressure from the plane and has a good elastic buffering effect; it can be made into pads or containers of various shapes and sizes according to needs, which is simpler and faster than plastic buffer materials; it is less affected by temperature and has good shading properties. Good and does not deteriorate when exposed to light.

It is generally less affected by humidity, but it is not suitable for long-term use in environments with high humidity because this will affect its strength. It is mainly composed of two parallel flat sheets of outer paper and inner paper, and the middle is corrugated core paper processed by corrugating rollers.

Each sheet is bonded to corrugated paper with adhesive coated on the corrugated peaks. Corrugated cardboard is mainly used to make outer packaging boxes to protect goods in circulation, and finer corrugated cardboard can be used as the inner village of commodity cardboard packaging to strengthen and protect goods.

There are many types of corrugated paper, including single-sided, double-sided, double-layered, and multi-layered.

White cardboard is made of chemical pulp and pulp, including ordinary white cardboard liner white cardboard, kraft liner white cardboard, etc. There is also white cardboard made of chemical pulp, also known as a high-grade whiteboard.

Yellow cardboard refers to low-grade cardboard made of pulp produced by the lime method with straw as the main raw material.

Kraft paperboard:

Made from kraft pulp. The one with kraft pulp on one side is called a single-sided kraft board, and the one with kraft paper on both sides is called a double-sided kraft board. The main function of corrugated cardboard face paper is called kraft box board, and its strength is much higher than that of ordinary face paper. In addition, it can also be combined with water-resistant resin to make water-resistant kraft paperboard, which is mostly used in beverage collection boxes.

Composite processed cardboard: refers to the cardboard compounded with composite aluminum foil, polyethylene, oil-proof paper, wax, and other materials. It makes up for the shortcomings of ordinary cardboard and has many new functions such as oil-proof, waterproof, and fresh-keeping.
